Now a handsome 30 year old, Shiloh Bold Command came into our lives in 1979. Sired by Flight Commander, a Stetson son and Flyhawk grandson, the potential was there to produce type and athletic ability. His dam, a gorgeous, flaxen chestnut, Shawalla China Doll (daughter and granddaughter of the renowned, Rockfield) substance and exquisite beauty were added to the mix. A bright bay with no white markings, ‘BC’ developed into a stallion that was more than we thought possible. At 15.1 hands, he is smooth bodied, well balanced, with a very upright silhouette, and the longest, loftiest stride. He passes on his tight conformation, clean bone, very pretty head and huge eyes. He may be the last Flight Commander son standing today. His pedigree (in six generations) reads like Who’s Who of the foundation greats such as Allen King, Franklin and Lee; Jubilee, Daisy and Lady de Jarnette; Senator Knox, Jubilee King, General Gates, Woodland Chief, Donald, Successful, Mansfield, Bennington and Artemesia…the list goes on and on. ‘BC’ is a true amateur stallion, always a gentleman with exceptional manners. This wonderful disposition continues on the farm and in the breeding shed where he has produced numerous foals, grandsons and daughters that have found their way into the show ring, breeding programs or are well loved companions. ‘BC’ continued to compete until he was retired at age 21, when still bringing home blues against much younger entries. This virile, 30 year old stallion was evaluated for AI and semen transport, spring 2007. When tested, his fresh cooled, extended semen was consistently 75-85% after 72 hours in a container. FLASH:  BC, at age 30, has just settled an outside mare checked in foal!!   We expect a foal sired by BC any day from Dream Caribella here at the farm.   We have two BC daughters, both proven broodmares, available for lease, and three granddaughters (two started under saddle) for sale.
